RESULTS BASED MANAGEMENT
Definition: Results Based Management (RBM) is a management strategy aimed at achieving important changes in the way organisations operate zeroing on improving performance in terms of results as central orientation. As such, it provides management framework and tools for Strategic Plans, Risk Management, Performance Monitoring and Evaluation.
RBM Terminology: Like any tool in development, RBM has got its language, particularly terminology. RBM terminology borrows from the Systems theory and reflects the central role of causality, whilst taking into account temporal dimension. The following elaborates the RBM Results Chain with the terminology;
|How (How should this be implemented?)||What (What should be produced?)||What (What results do we expect from investments?)||Why? (Why should we do this?)|
|Inputs||Activities||Outputs||Short-term outcomes||Long-term outcomes||Long term impacts|
