SADC HIV PROJECT

Organizations in Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe

PMS-SADC – Strengthening the organizational capacities of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) for HIV responses in Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe: Primson Management Services (PMS) responded to a call for proposals from the SADC HIV Special Fund in 2009. The SADC Secretariat awarded and signed an agreement with PMS on the implementation of a 2 year project “Strengthening the Organizational Capacities of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) for HIV responses in Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe.”

The project runs from August 2011 to July 2013″. The project received an extension to the July 2014. It utilizes the mentorship approach for capacity building. In all the three countries, PMS works closely with the National AIDS Councils whose role is to oversee the implementation of the project. PMS also works in partnership with umbrella CSO organisations in each country, whose role is to oversee the participation of the CBOs in the project.

In Botswana PMS works with Botswana Christian AIDS Intervention Programme (BOCAIP), Zambia Network of Zambian People Living with HIV and AIDS (NZP+) and Zimbabwe AIDS Network (ZAN).PMS is one of the 12 HIV initiatives in the SADC region that were awarded a grant to implement a regional HIV initiative.
